Andrei A. Arzamastsev, Doctor of Science (mineralogy, petrology) is a leading research scientist of the Institute of Precambrian Geology and Geochronology and St. Petersburg State University. His major research interests concern the petrology, geochemistry and mineralogy of igneous rocks of the Fennoscandian Shield. He was the head of several projects on Palaeozoic magmatism which included investigations of the world biggest alkaline intrusions of Khibina and Lovozero, carbonatite massifs, dyke swarms and diamond bearing kimberlite pipes.
